Comet

I’ve been across the street helping our 80 year old neighbor since she had surgery last week. Her windows don’t overlook our place but the edge of our yard. Yesterday I heard Comet barking stepped up to the front door to see what was so “barkable” then saw a man running down the road and thought “Oh Comet’s barking at a jogger.” I had just stepped away from the door when I heard Comet cry out. I opened the door to see our yard and was stunned to see the man in our front yard holding a Pit Bull. I ran to get my shoes then ran across the street. Ken was holding Comet checking him for bites and the guy was just standing there with the Pit Bull. Our gates are kept locked and at first I just couldn’t get over that there was a Pit Bull in our front yard. Comet is shaken up but fine. The Pit Bull had a slightly bloody tongue. Ken broke up the fight and did so without getting bitten himself. Ken really saved Comet the other guy was too chicken to step up and grab his own dog. It was absolutely horrible. Today I am grateful for so many things, that Comet is alright, that Ken didn’t get harmed, that little Kea’we wasn’t outside, that the Pit Bull didn’t come in the dog door and get cat happy. I’m grateful that no one was at the park across the street, like there was a half hour later, with their dog and two year old baby. IMG_4820
